Learning To Play The Piano
Learning to play the piano is something everyone should get around to, its so great to be able to walk up to a piano where ever that might be and have the ability to play something that you like. It doesnt matter how old or young you are, the piano is so versatile that anyone can learn, and the price of digital pianos are coming down all the time so now playing piano is within the grasp of most.
It takes time; if you want to be able to play everything from the simple pieces right through to the hardest ones then it can take upwards of 10 years, but dont worry, thats only if you wanted to make a career out of it, most people will be able to play all their favourite songs within 2 years, take Tina Arena, she had only been playing piano for about 2 years when she played on the end of one of her CDs, and she sounded great.
The first year will mostly be simple songs, but after that first year youll really start to take notice of your piano playing, and so will other people, keep in mind it depends on how much time youre willing to put in, a good amount would be about an hour a day, and if you have the right teacher and practice the right things then this amount would be about right to accomplish what Ive said above.
Piano is something that will become a part of your life, after a few years of playing every day, if you go on a holiday youll start to miss it, and then when you see a piano, all youll want to do is go and play it. Ive been playing the piano since I was 6 years old; Im now 22 and still loving it as much as when I first touched those keys. I have students from the age of 7 up to the age of 87, some of them beginners and some that have been learning a few years. But the more I teach and play piano the more I realize that playing the piano is for most.
So to some up, if youre thinking of learning to play the piano dont think anymore, go and get yourself a piano or an electric keyboard and make a start on what could be a great new piece of your life.
