“So in the sixth lesson, it is time now to introduce a book for them to read from. I’m a big fan of the Music for Little Mozarts and that’s the most basic of materials you can use. So if you have a four year old or a five year old. I highly suggested that you use that because it moves at the slowest pace and it really works for them. If you have a child that is a little older or a little more ready, you can use something that is a little higher level. The Bastian and the Favre early ones all of these are good methods to use. And almost all of them start on the black keys. What that means is they get to use, your children get to use your two finger, your three finger and your four finger on the triplets which is really cool and it will have a series of notes and it will just say finger two, finger three, finger four or whatever. Did you know that you can play Mary Had a Little Lamb all on the black keys right here using only four three and two. If you didn’t your children will soon learn it and it will be pretty easy for them. What you are connecting again, is reading whether it goes up or down. Reading how long each one gets. Is it just a plain note? Is it a note that last for two or is it something that lasts for four? And that every note has a consequence. Everything that it says up there means that you have to do something. It’s kind of a hard concept that everything means something. Even though it’s just a bastion of crazy pictures on that page, it means something that you have to do. So that will take a while. Once you get that you will be good. The other thing to bring in at this point is Old McDonald Had a Farm and play e i e i o on the triplets. They’ll find that quite fun. Not that.”
